Built Heritage Conservation & Community Engagement Workshop, by Union Street Conservation Area Regeneration Scheme at recently renovated Music Hall.
The workshop will introduce students and attendees to achieve a “beneficial future of Buildings of Historic and Architectural Importance, including those within the Union Street CARS Area”. Focusing on the preservation and repurposing of significant Urban Conservation Areas. Leading the discussion Zinnie Denby-Mann, the Interim Project Officer for the Union Street Conservation Area Regeneration Scheme. The workshop also included presentations by Dr. James Simpson, Paul Higson, Professor David McClean and Dr. Marc Ellington the Executive Director of the Scottish Traditional Skills Training Centre.
The workshop address built historic precedents, cultural values for repurposing of historic buildings, planning objectives, and current construction renovations challenges.
The workshop marked the beginning of the 2019’s Aberdeen Collaborative Urban Path.
