On July 25 of 2017 students presented current progress to guest critiques Ryan Swanson from the Urban Conga, Hala Barakat and Danielle Barozinsky. Both, Barakat and Barozinsky had participated of the Aberdeen Summer Collaboration the previous summer of 2016. Guests discussed students design proposals along with graphic and verbal presentations.
All three groups presented spatial possibilities for Aberdeen’s Gateway. Students reimagined existing and new locations within the city. Students focused on the civic value of public spaces for both local and visiting users. Also, designs provided means to address the local climate while navigating the city.
Students will present final designs to members of the Aberdeen City Council on the 3rd August.
