The proposed design looks at Queen Street as an opportunity to activate production and performance within the city, focusing on ways to enhance the quality of life for families and encourage more long-lasting Aberdeen residents. The site in its current state lacks the energy that could ignite the sense of liveliness in the area, nestled within surrounding historical Aberdeen buildings keeping it almost hidden from the main street. The concept proposes to develop an overall space for people to use for their daily needs, as well as enhance an artistic influence to express the character of Aberdeen. The new design incorporates a performance venue, a residential community building, a children’s art museum, a marketplace, and a new public center.
